Upcoming shows

So, in my attempt to not totally fail at this blog. I will tell you about shows I will be going to.

Tomorrow - Pearl Jam - yep, I use to own Ten and Vs, and I like the new song on the radio. I've never seen them, so why not, who knows maybe I will even do a little bit of stage diving... Note to self "Do NOT forget to wear your flannel to work tomorrow".

Saturday - Brooks and Dunn - yep, I like country it's no secret, and this is their final tour, so why not. I can jam to "Red Dirt Road", "Cowgirls Don't Cry", and "Boot Scootin' Boogie"... Note to self "Do NOT forget to bring your cowboy boots down to San Diego this weekend".

EVERY MONDAY IN OCTOBER - The Fling (free at the Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa) - yep, These shows are going to be awesome. Have you heard The Fling recently? The new stuff is amazing, and the openers are great too.

On the 12th there is Tape Deck Mountain and Deep Sea Diver, who both put out two of my favorite records this year. Tape Deck Mountain tore it up last time I saw them at Bar Pink. Listen for yourself:

"In The Dirt" Jamuel Saxon Remix (click to download)

"Ghost Colony" (click to download)

Deep Sea Diver's EP "New Caves" has been a constant in my CD player this year, and I'm really looking forward to seeing them live. I believe this will be their first show back since their Singer/Guitarist Jessica Dobson is currently on tour playing guitar for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

The following Monday the openers will be Sam Outlaw and We Barbarians, who both put on great shows... Note to self "These shows are free, so no excuses!".

Guilty Pleasure

When I'm not listening to Tom Waits or Gram Parsons, I'll sneak in a little synth-pop. I kinda love this:

"Saviour" Music Video

Lights, New album in October, and playing The Troubadour in November.
